I have been a member of Scrappers Guide, Digital Scrapper since the fall of 2005. In that time I’ve learned so much and made so many beautiful projects including an album of all my ancestors photos that I made for my kids and grandkids, and wedding albums for my kids as well as travel albums and Christmas cards. When I started using Photoshop in 1998 I took a course at the community college which required a commute of 45 minutes each way and two hours in class. Unfortunately, the instructor was often late. Sometimes when I got home to work on my own computer I forgot some of the instructions, or part of them. Since joining Scrappers guide, I’ve never had to commute, the instructor is never late and if I decide to take the class in the middle of the night the instructor is always available. If I need to repeat part or all of the class, she is always patient and repeats the instructions word for word and I never have to worry about having a conflict and missing class. This is my kind of class!

Every class that I have taken since 2008 has been totally awesome, and always offered at affordable prices. I can’t imagine learning Photoshop without your training! I have taken just about every class offered with the exception of a few that didn’t interest me. I have photography friends who get PS and struggle to learn it. I remember struggling with PS Elements until I started with Digital Scrapper and started doing the tutorials. So I not only learned digital scrapping but learned PS and could produce better photographs. I often suggest taking a course to friends who are struggling with PS. You learn best by doing. And when you can do and have a wonderful memory page to print – well it ain’t ever going to get better.

I would absolutely love to win a free class!!! I have been a premier member of Digital Scrapper for many years, and love all the information that has been shared. The format is different now, and I’m still not sure if I’m getting all the value that is there for me. I love photography, love trying to capture the memories, and have tried for years to find the time to get better at putting them together on pages; but still fighting that challenge. I’m not as much into the typical scrap book page style, but like the artistic aspects and the more masculine and outdoor formats and styles. I’ve purchased many classes in the past but there are still some I would love to take. Maybe someday I’ll get to the point I’m more comfortable with what I create and will be less hesitant to post my results.

How much would I like to win a free class…???
Well, any time I’m given something for free, I feel that I don’t want to disappoint the giver, resulting in my actually using the gift. Sometimes that a knitting pattern, sometimes a pair of slippers; in the case of PSE, the very first version I ever used was 7, and it was a Christmas gift from our son and daughter-in-law! I am now working with version 14 and the love-affair still remains.
I have some video classes on my computer that I bought myself – they’re sitting there!
I think that a gift, gives me the motivation and determination to use and finish it!

I have enjoyed a very nice scrapbooking software but PSE is better for creating extra effects. I have had limited time to work through the learning curve. Classes help tremendously for that. I also need tips on designing well. Needless to say, my budget is limited and I haven’t been able to take advantage of all the classes that are available.
