Spellcheck Your Scrapbook Pages by Jenifer Juris

Learn how to use Spellcheck to avoid spelling errors on your scrapbook pages. Includes a workaround for Photoshop Elements.

How to Spellcheck in Photoshop Elements

• In the Layers panel, double click on the thumbnail of the type layer to highlight all the text.
• Press Ctrl C (Mac: Cmd C) to copy the highlighted type.
• Go to any application that uses spellcheck.
• Press Ctrl V (Mac: Cmd V) to paste the type into an app that recognizes spellcheck.
• Correct any errors.
• If corrections were needed, highlight all of the type.
• Press Ctrl C (Mac: Cmd C) to copy the highlighted type.
• Go back to Photoshop Elements.
• Double click directly on the thumbnail of the type layer to highlight all of the type again.
• Press Ctrl V (Mac: Cmd V) to paste the corrected type.
• Click the checkmark to commit the change.

How to Spellcheck in Adobe Photoshop

• In the Menu Bar, choose Edit > Check Spelling.
NOTE: This will spellcheck all visible, unlocked layers in the current document. Any type layers that are hidden or locked will not be spellchecked.
