Your Love Story Challenge Winner

with 15 Comments

Ah, February — the month of love! And who doesn’t just love a beautiful love story?

It is always extremely difficult choosing a winner, but as Andrea went through the challenge gallery, this double-page spread by Imcgue really stood out:

Imcgue Pg. 1

by Imcgue

Imcgue Pg 2

by Imcgue

The beautiful, timeless photos of her parents when they were young and newly in love flow seamlessly through to the photos of them after more than 60 years of marriage. This was achieved by keeping the same soft sepia tones throughout the two pages.

Her use of the ‘Scrap it Now’ template system introduced in the Your Story. Brilliant class is stunning! Adding the subtle tabs along the sides of the photos with dates helps to define the time-line of their lives and keeps the viewer engaged. The journaling begins with a light-hearted feel and slowly turns more compelling — much like most marriages, I would think.

So congratulations on winning the challenge, Imcgue, and thank you for sharing this precious story with us!

I so enjoy reading all about your parentage, from their youthful marriage full circle. It is so ironic as I have a great big smile because your second page year tab is my birth year. I just adore these templates that are included within this class that layout your photos so majestically. You are an excellent choice with your soft, warm, and serene layout design. These paper choices are spectacular and the perfect backdrop for this grand and long-lastingstory of love.

Wow, I love how you did this. I am scrapping my Dad’s love letters to my Mom and I want to scrapbook your layout for the end of the book. I like the soft tones and how you used photos and tabs to do a kind of time line on the second page. Marvelous! Thank you for sharing and your win is well deserved!

What a beautifully depicted story of your parents. And what a perfect tribute to faithful parents from a faithful daughter. I love your choice of photos and the beautiful way you have arranged them in the sepia tones. I also love your narration. It is succinct and informative. Well done!

I love, love, love! your work.

It is very inspirational…not just your work, but the fact that your parents had 60 years of marriage. You have really honored them not just now, but for future generations.
