Travel the States Via Fonts
by Jen White

I’ve had the opportunity to meet people from all areas of the US, but I’ve never met anyone more proud of their state than Texas residents. Those guys are crazy in love with their massive land and rich history.

After a recent adventure through the Lone Star State, I began searching for ways to effectively scrap my memories. A great place to start travel scrapbooking is by featuring the lands through which you traveled.

Did you know you can get a FREE font with all the US states? The image above features a font called StateFace Regular. This is the font I used to create the big Texas shape on my scrapbook page below.

I used my Texas font shape as a clipping mask, but you could use it as an overlay or even as a text box. The papers and embellishments from my page are from Nature’s Playground by Kim Broedelet.

Does anyone know if there is a font like this for Canadian Provinces?

Hi Lois. I didn’t find a font with the provinces, but you could surely find vector shapes. Try giving it a google search. 😀

Can’t believe you visited Dallas and didn’t look to the west and visit me. I could have taken you to Fort Worth…the REAL Texas!
Yes, it is! And I am a native Texan.

I so enjoy seeing your lovely layout with your loving photos. So glad you met Darcy as you welcome the latest bundle of love in your family. You reminded me that I have the states somewhere on my computer buried. So, I will just download the font to use. I won’t mention how long I have had the states and never use them. Your layout is a gorgeous reminder. Thanks for the tip. Hugs. 🙂

This is so cool! I had downloaded a few fonts like this just last week for a project for my home. Love how you used it for your page! 🙂

What a lovely idea, not being an American you have now sent me on a hunt to see if I can find a font for countries of the world, thanks Jen

This is fantastic, Jen! I wish this had been around when our family took our trip around the USA! Wait…digital scrapbooking hadn’t even been invented then…
