Quick Tip—Black & White 2

I snapped a photo of my mother—on the way to her mother’s funeral. She was dressed in one of grandma’s favorite hats. To me it was a magical moment. But, the photo also contained lots of contrasting colors and a distracting background. The colors in the photo also looked bad with the quickpage I wanted to use.
To quickly solve my problem (because I’m all about “quick”), I used my favorite black and white treatment on the photo. Making just one photo (in this case the main one) black & white can make a dramatic difference on your page.
Now, I’m no longer focusing on the ugly green of grandma’s hat and the car door and cluttered yard outside the window. I just see my dear ole mom. <3

This was perfect timing. I did a page with this same template with my photos in color and it was okay, but not great. I then used your idea of the black and white and sure enough it was so much better that way. Thanks again for sharing your expertise with us.

Great question! I used to use a B&W action I purchased online. But, since Linda came out with her Enhance Photos Fast set of actions, I’ll never need another action in ALL MY LIFE!! 😀
