New Years Eve Brushes

New Years Eve 2013 is right around the corner. Do you have your New Years Eve photos from last year scrapped yet? If not, don’t feel bad. I just did mine today!!

While designing my scrapbook page, I came across a free brush set on the Internet and wanted to share it with you. I really love the Grandfather Clock in this set. It reminds me of my grandparents’ house. I also am a huge fan of quality flourishes, so this set was a must-grab for me.

Click on the image below to go to Mel’s website where you can download this brush set for yourself. While you are there, leave her some love and link back to the page you create with her brushes. Designers LOVE to know how they are inspiring you.

Here’s my scrapbook page using a few brushes from Mel’s brush set. I stamped them on my page in a matching color, then reduced their opacity to make them look more like rub-ons. If you’d like to see a complete list of credits for this page, click on the image below.

My scrapbook page (above) was completed using Kristin Cronin-Barrow’s Christmas Wishes. I am in love with this kit and find it amazingly versatile. This is Digital Scrapper’s December 2013 Premier kit (Premier members received it for free), but it is now on sale in our shop. Shop now.

Jen, you spoil us so wondrously with gifts and suggestions of love and caring. I know that I will also scraplift your fantastic page because it is truly an uplift and pleasure for me. Love the rich colors and fantastic kit design. I regret that I didn’t get a real chance to play with it last month, but I really appreciate this second opportunity. Blessings to you during this 2014 New Year. 😉

Thanks for the link as well as the ideas. I’m somewhat new to digital scrapping and I am wondering what the difference or advantage of using brushes versus elements on a layout is. Thanks for the weekly newsletter. I love it.

      Hi Liz. Great question.
One is really not better than the other. It’s just something different and a matter of personal preference.
However, let me talk you into trying brushes on your scrapbook page. . .
      • Brushes are automatically colored to your liking——you choose a color before using them.
      • Brushes are readily available in every size imaginable——and they don’t loose clarity in larger sizes.
      • Brushes are widely available for free all over the web——in millions of styles.
Really, the list could go on and on and on and on. Do a search for “free photoshop brushes” and you’ll be opened up to a whole new world. 😀
      Hope this helps. xoxo
