I’m catching up with a few free tutorials and wanted to tell you that this technique is what I have been looking for.

Also wanted to tell you what a cool dude your nephew is. It so nice to see him grow through your pages.

Thanks for the tutorial. And I totally agree with the Make It Match comment. Thanks to Covid 19, I’ve completed 8 classes! If you have lemons, make lemonade:)

I’m with Julie! And I bet there are places “out there” to buy or get free additional shapes. Any suggestions? Maybe on a Friday when favorite links are allowed?

I hadn’t even thought of that until you mentioned it. Yes, please share any you find on the Friday Favorites post! 🙂

Haven’t gotten to the tutorial yet, but wanted to tell you before I forget totally, how very much I enjoyed the Make it Match class. I learned so much and actually got to complete the class thanks to Covid19! Had a blast going through some of my kits and coloring flowers and frames to match a paper. If any of you were hesitant about taking the class, don’t be. Well worth your time, effort, and money. Jennifer is a great teacher!!!

I had one problem with the instructions for Photoshop Elements for adding a drop shadow. I chose Layer>Layer Style>Style Settings and could set the Lighting Angle ok.

However, when I went to the next step and clicked “on the Drop Shadow to open the settings,” I was clicking on the small arrow to open them up. Doing that, I had no way to change the size, distance or opacity because it was all greyed out. It wasn’t until later I figured out that if I instead checked the BOX next to the arrow that I could change the settings. So simple, yet I got stuck on that for awhile. Other than that, this was so easy and I will be using this tutorial often! Loved it!

Hi Aileen – I’m so sorry you got stuck on that. Checking the box is what that step meant so we’ll make sure to update the wording in the future. I’m so glad you enjoyed the tutorial! 🙂

I love the versatility of this technique, Jenifer! So many custom shapes to put to good use as a cut-out. Your page stopped me in my tracks! I love the blues with the occasional brown and MJ is completely adorable in that hat!!
