Clustering Challenge

Hello everyone! We have a fun new challenge for you…the Clustering Challenge! Clustering is such a fun style, and it has become a favorite for many!

In case you’re wondering what on earth “clustering” means, let me explain: clustering is the grouping of elements, photos, etc. to add depth to your page. Let me show you some examples of what our FABULOUS creative team came up with:

Barb:

Barb did a beautiful job clustering her elements to give her page so much depth, and look at how cute her flowers look in the bottom left hand corner of the photo — such a nice touch!

Shar Lamb:

Shar has done a fun job combining her clean style with clustering, and look what a happy and fun page she’s created here! Her photos are clustered so nicely!

connieg:

connieg has done a great job clustering her elements so nicely. Notice how your eye is automatically drawn to her two beautiful photos. Such a beautiful page and a great example showing how elements can compliment photos and not overpower them!

I love the frame that rose used for her photos! And look at the beautifully clustered flowers in the bottom corner — they add so much to this page!

Mary Newman:

I love how Mary has clustered her photos in this page! You can see them all, and she managed to get seven fun photos on one page. I love to see good ideas for using multiple photos in a layout!

I think our creative team has done a fantastic job illustrating clustering! If you have any questions on this, please leave a comment — I’ll be watching for them!

Challenge requirements:

  1. Create a layout using cluster(s). Clusters can be made up of elements, photos, papers or anything else you can think of to cluster!
  2. Post your individual pages in our Challenge Gallery.
  3. Leave some love for the other layouts in this gallery. (Optional, but highly recommended!)

This challenge is open for approximately 2 weeks. It will officially be closed to new entries on the night of August 14th, 2011 at midnight (Pacific Time).

We will announce the winner and post the winning layout here on the Digital Scrapper Blog, our Facebook page, and in our forum within a week of the challenge end date. The winner will receive a $10 gift certificate to our Digital Scrapper Shop that can be used towards Photoshop Elements & Adobe Photoshop Video Tutorials and awesome kits and templates!

I did a cluster for the layout I did and posted in the August Premier Gallery. Can I use the same layout for the cluster challenge?

Yes, but it has to be in the Clustering Challenge Gallery. I’m sorry I didn’t see your note sooner!
