Mask Challenge

We have a fun challenge for you today—the Mask Challenge!

What is a mask? It’s any shape you use as a clipping mask for your photo, paper, or embellishments. This allows you to be really creative with how you frame your photos and show off your favorite elements.

There’s something extra special about today’s challenge. It’s our first challenge with the five new Creative Team members that were recently added to our already amazing Creative Team!

We get to have lots of beautiful examples to help inspire us to create our own pages or projects with mask(s). Let’s take a look at what the Creative Team came up with for this Mask Challenge:

I think each of these pages captured a special and beautiful moment so uniquely. They are all so different, too! And we’re not done yet:

We have something a little different for you. One of our new Creative Team Members will be focused on hybrid projects.

If you are wondering what hybrid digital scrapbooking is, let me tell you. Hybrid digital scrapbooking is when you combine digital scrapbooking and traditional scrapbooking. For example, if you print something out, then you add a real life element to it such as ribbon, paper, frames, etc., then you have yourself a hybrid project.

Below is the cover of anika’s hybrid book. She printed out her book and then added ribbon to fasten the pages together, and she used the camera as a mask to create the shape for her entire mini album, which turned out so cute!

These are the pictures of the inside pages to the camera book that anika created. These inside pages have been combined for this image, but to get a closer view of each of the album pages, click these links: page 2, page 3, page 4, page 5

Isn’t this book such a fun idea? I love how anika captured her beautiful pictures and used the darling patterned papers for this mini album.

We would love to see what pages and/or hybrid projects all of these wonderful examples inspire you to create! Want to play along with us? Come join us in the Mask Challenge by doing the following:

1. Create your own page with any kit you love, and share with us a page or hybrid project using a mask of your choice.

2. Post your individual pages in the Mask Challenge Gallery.

3. Leave some love on the other pages in the gallery. (Not required but highly encouraged!)

This challenge is open for approximately 2 weeks. It will officially be closed to new entries on the night of October 21st, 2012 at midnight (Pacific Time).

We will announce the winner and post the winning layout here on the Digital Scrapper Blog, our Facebook page, and in our forum within a week of the challenge end date. The winner will receive a $10 gift certificate to our Digital Scrapper Shop that can be used towards Photoshop Elements & Adobe Photoshop Video Tutorials and awesome kits and templates! (Note: Gift Certificate codes cannot be used for existing or future Premier Membership.)

Also, by popular demand, our Easy Page Design Class is back! Find out the details here.

I can’t wait to see what awesome pages and/or hybrid projects you ladies come up with!

Happy Scrapping!
